GAME DRIVES - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

Chobe Game Park is on the south bank (Botswana side) of the Chobe river.  We are able to see the Zambezi Queen houseboat on the north bank (Namibia side) from here. The river is partly in flood and approx. one km wide at this point.
There are 14 qualified guides/drivers at this lodge - all female.
We arose at 5.00 am for a 2.5 hr game drive which commenced in the dark.  Well worth the early morning with a vast variety of birds and mammals to see.
Sea eagles mate for life.
Impala are too small for a decent feed for a pride of lions.
Old male buffalo leave the main herd and travel together.  Being elderly they become vulnerable to attack by lions.
The colours of birds are beautiful but difficult to capture with a camera.
