THE AMAZING FALLS

The missing part to these photos is the roar of the water down this 100 metre fall.  The sound is incredible and the mist from the spray can be seen 50 kms away.  Being 1.2 kms long, every step along the edge of the viewing path is breathtaking.  You can wear as much wet weather gear as you wish but you will still come home saturated.  This is truly one of the great wonders of the world. As you can see, some photos were taken through a hail of water.  The fastest flowing section is on the left of the main falls, and is named "The Devil's Cataract".  The falls themselves are known by a name which translates as "The Smoke which Thunders".
