VICTORIA FALLS

Zimbabwean currency is now worthless.  $1 hundred trillion will only buy a lolly!  About 15 years ago when you went to a bar with your mates, it was best to buy the first round of drinks, because by the second round it would cost much more!!!  Inflation was out of control.  We used some $US to buy several "high value" notes as souvenirs.
Late afternoon we boarded a river boat on the Zambezi River for a "sunset cruise".  This was a very pleasant experience, with drinks and canapés served whilst we slowly traversed the river looking for wild life along the shore.  We were rewarded with a view of 4 hippopotamus cavorting in the water close to our 3 storey river boat. (Photo below).  The sunset views were exquisitely beautiful.
Just prior to embarking, we saw several warthogs on the grass close to the river bank, making a mess with their snouts.  We were told that these are the favourite food for lions.  Presumably we will be served this delicacy for a meal at some stage. (Photo below).  They are very strange-looking animals.
